"The most difficult thing is the decision to act; the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do." — Amelia Earhart

When you begin the process of change, results can feel painfully slow to occur sometimes. In our culture, we often thrive on instant gratification and intensity.

When we’re suffering and want to change, we might expect any effort we put in to yield immediate and dramatic effects—otherwise, what’s the point of doing the work? Relief now, please!

Recovery results are often subtle and gentle. They roll out in small ways that build over time. Today, let’s talk about how to see and feel those nuanced effects of the work you put in. The outcomes are visible almost immediately if you look just a little closer.

After all, it likely took a long time for you to develop the beliefs and behaviors that have you feeling stuck or held back from the life you want.

It’s a process to undo those beliefs and behaviors. And we actually need that process for our brains and bodies to adjust to new behaviors and beliefs that work for you instead of against you.

Here’s what so many of my clients notice just a little while after working with me, or even during their hypnotherapy appointments:

  • Positive emotional shifts and fewer negative thoughts each day.
  • Expanded resilience in challenging situations (like not spiraling out when triggers hit—being able to regulate feelings in the moment without activating a fight-flight-freeze response.)
  • A sensation of emotional and physical lightness, especially during or just after a hypnotherapy session.
  • Decreasing worry and increasing safety (like enjoying social interactions, like going to a party and not needing to retreat to a corner, like knowing you’re okay.)
  • Less frequent triggers….like more space between binge eating cycles, or the ability to interrupt them when they start.
  • Feeling comfortable enough with big feelings so that you don’t have to distract from them anymore with drinking, eating, or pornograpy.

Everyone’s process with change is a little different, but the outcomes are often similar:

It’s about being able to CHOOSE the behaviors and thoughts you’d like to have about every situation and circumstance, instead of feeling like you’re trapped in cycles you cannot escape.

I’ve opened up my schedule in May for a handful of private hypnotherapy clients to begin or continue this life-elevating work.
